This course examines some of the world's major religions (Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam) with focus on Theravada Buddhism by reflecting on their origin, history, beliefs, worldview, teachings, and practices, and by considering thoughtful Christian responses to them. By making use of basic ethnographic methods, students will engage persons of other religions respectfully to understand their faith, religious commitments and spiritual journeys. Students will learn to theologically about other faiths and to appropriately and effectively witness to people of other faiths. After successfully completing this class, students will be better prepared as Ambassadors of Christ as they live, work, and minister in religious diverse societies.
